Do you know what your family did in the Caribbean?

both photos – with kind permission of the family

We have recently been given permission to display these beautiful photographs of a Caribbean Family History Group member’s family in Jamaica. Dressed for a wonderful occasion, we don’t know where they are going or indeed what they do for a living.

The UK National Archives has a vast array of Caribbean documents for family history researchers. At the present time it is free to download some documents from their website. Wills are an excellent source of information. You will find many wills of individuals who have lived in the Caribbean in the National Archives. Don’t forget if your family came to the UK , the census returns have a vast amount of information and may include occupation. Some of the Parish records for Jamaica on Family Search include the occupation in the entry.
